Matty Harris began spinning in 1986, but it wasn't until he moved to chicago in the early 90's that he found his true calling in the underground scene. Finally, after a lot of hard work and dedication, he earned himself a residency at smart bar's tuesday night romp,"Pump",where he and his dear friends Derrick Carter and Miles Maeda and Terry Martin played host to many up and coming super chicago Allstars.
When"Pump" came to a conclusion, Matty became a part of "The" then thriving urban clubscene. With residencies all over the city of Chicago ,and playing with top players such as Jevon Jackson, Diz, Derrick Carter and more, this was just the beginning.
Matty has proved himself time and time again to teach and move the crowd all across the country. Matty's eighteen years of experience have led him to develop a method of crowd analysis infused with impromptu musical dynamics. his soulful method is constructed through his feelings of the moment and detailed knowledge of his records.
Currently, Matty's commitments are to his studio and meeting deadlines for remixes and work of his own. As of late he has relaesed an e.p. on Classic under his former moniker, The Narcoleptic. Not to mention a slew of tracks for Loveslap as Matty Harris ,and The Evolving Doors, featuring guest vocalist Hawk.
This is just the beginning.
